Deborah Corr is an artist and educator living in Stony Point, NY. In 2021, Corr completed her MFA in Photography and Related Media at SUNY New Paltz in New Paltz, NY with her project, Stay at Home, consisting of photographic prints and a handmade book. Born and raised in Illinois, her photographic work discusses her shifting feelings and relationship to the meaning of home now that she has left her childhood home and is based in New York.
Corr currently works as a Digital Media Production Associate refining her technical skills in photo and video editing while working collaboratively in a team-driven environment. Additionally, Corr teaches Visual Storytelling at the College of Westchester in White Plains, NY allowing her to foster an enthusiasm for art and digital media in higher education.
At SUNY New Paltz, Corr taught a Basic Digital Photography course in the spring of 2020 and an Introduction to Studio Art course in the fall of 2020.
In May of 2019, Corr graduated summa cum laude, receiving her BFA in Studio Art, focusing on photography and drawing, and majoring in Spanish at Millikin University in Decatur, IL. For her BFA, Corr held a solo exhibition, titled Midwestern Constructs, showcasing her self-portrait photography and collage drawings.
